Turbo 400
I have a Turbo 400; it smokes and it leaks bad. Sometimes it shifts weird if at all. I have swapped out the oil pan, changed the transmission modulator, and I am constantly checking my fluid levels. Bolts seem to vibrate loose and fall out; a lot of bolts are stripped (at least 5 bolts that I've found so far). I've talked to a couple of guys at VegasLSx about the transmission issues and I've been told to swap it back to the 700r4. I really like the transmission and when it's having a good day its awesome. Wondering if you guys had any insight... Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Turbo 400
If you have stripped bolts and they continuously vibrate loose you really need to retap the existing holes and use a larger bolt.....this is a very common happening since people use 3/8 ratchets and you retard strength when all you need is a 1/4" ratchet.......
You can also drill out the bad/stripped bolt holes and helicoil them may become a little pricey........

Re: Turbo 400
Rebuilding the tranny will not repair the problem you have addressed about the leaking/stripped bolts!
Why have a T400 in there anyway it takes a bunch of HP to run a T400.....dont get me wrong they are awesome trannies quite durable but at the same time it kills the rear wheel HP??????????
