9 inch question
Well, my 12 bolt swap I was going to do swap in went to my dad for some cash and a trade for a 9" ford with a 31 spline 3.90 gear locking diff. I know I can get a torque arm adapter from currie and then try to beef it up some. This rear is out of a truck so it needs to be shortened and new axles ordered from moser. Can a diy'er like myself and my dad remover the tubes from the center piece and cut off whatever is necessary or do need to get creative and cut the ends off and reweld the tubes there.

Re: 9 inch question
You must use a housing fixture when narrowing a housing. The fixture lines up everything with the differential bearing bore so that everything is in a straight line through the housing. If you don't then you will probably wear the splines off of the axles or trash the axle bearings because they will bind.

Re: 9 inch question
So, pretty much not happening. Cost wise, I might as well just order a housing from moser and use the center section. Thanks for the help.
