i got the master cylinder and pedals from an 85 s10 we are junking

my questions is:
will the 85 s10 master cylinder accept third gen line?
I don't have the parts in hand to determine this. How about you let us know once you've tried it please.
or will the third gen slave cylinder accept an 85 s10 line?
Yes but there's always the chance of the fittings being different and causing a divorce.
if not then i should sell these parts if they are even worth anything
Do you intend to use them? The price is fine.

well..... lol..... uhmm it all depends on if i can get,,,, or find,,,, stock parts that wil make it work??
or even if i can run a non f-body tranny with this f-body housing.....??

may be screwed right there....

dont know?

and then the hydraulic lines thing.... no clue there either..... i need to find someone whos been through this before and/or already knows for sure., would the f-body master cyl bolt to the s-10 firewall and be the right rod length? hmmmmm.....

this is starting to get wayyyy more complicated that i imagined it could be.. i didnt think there could be this many changes and possibilities and differences,,,, hmmm.,,,

i might just say heck with it and sell instead...

cannot find a factory 4.3 with manual trans

that aint happening,. way rare here,. ive never even seen one in real life., if i made mine into a manual trans it would literally be the ONLY 4.3 s10 in central il anyways with a manual trans.,

or were there never any factory 4.3 manual trans first gens sold? if there were then what bellhousing did they use? and were they clocked 17 degrees??\

i just figured out that its all about the trany mount angle, whether the tranny is clocked or not hmmmm

i just saw a pic of a 4.3L 5 speed tranny and housing from a late 80s full size pickup and its not clocked.
hmmmm....

wow alot of researching to do on the internet hmmm....

thanks

IIRC the s10 clutch master has a threaded line fitting, but not 100% certain. Also the push rod is much longer. I believe you could only have a manual trans with the 4 cyl or 2.8 v6 versions(again not 100% certain). The trans sits straight up in the trucks so the third gen BH probably won't be of much help.
