tranny mount problem PLEASE HELP!!!

I have an 89 camaro with a 2.8l v6 and a 5 speed manual. Well it needs a tranny mount which is only on the 88-89 cars. The only place i can find one is the dealer it is $211.89 YES you read that right it is that much. So what i would like to know is if the 5 speed that i have is the same as, well lets say a 5 speed from an 87 with a 2.8l v6 that has a normal tranny mount. that ranges from 6 bucks to 0 bucks. how ever the cross member would be different. So could i take a cross member off of an 87, and willl it fit on my 89. I would think it is the same tranny, But is it. If i can just get a cross member from a junk yard off a older car and it bolts rightup to mine it will be alot cheaper than getting this tranny mount from a chevy dealer which is the only place i can find the mount. Oh and this car is just a fuel saver compared to my truck thats why i bought it so no wise cracks please about only having a v6 please.

There are three types of cross members and mounts, including the one you mention. You can see them in the following link:

They're interchangeable. Grab one, unlike yours, and install a poly mount. A junk yard piece would probably cost less than the poly mount.

Re: tranny mount problem PLEASE HELP!!!

parts companies are full of shizzel

they prey on the ignorance of us builders

on my toyota they wanted 65 dollars for the manual trans mount

I ended up paying 11.99

the auto and manual were the same and they triedto take advantage of me
