the best 700r4
What is the best year 700r4. I thought it was 88+ but i forgit. Also, i have the option of using a 200r4, as this is going in my nova. Is it worth building a 200? I know they were in gn and ss monte, but those will be hard to find. I will be runnin about 350hp sbc in a heavy car with 4.10s.

Re: the best 700r4
Just got a 89 700r4 with the converter, tv, and ds yoke for $110. drove it before i pulled it shifts great. I would've went th350 but i gotta have an od. It was too cheap to pass up anyway. I guess i answered my own question, The cheap one! thanks for reading.

The '88-'92 700R4s are the best ones to get. You got an '89, so you should be in good shape.

Re: the best 700r4
Make sure you hook up the cable to your carb/fuel injection in your nova. If you don't, damage to your cheap transmission will occur and then it would be an expensive transmission to fix. The cable is different than a th350 cable which is only used for kickdown versus T.V. on a 700r4 for pressure.
