auto to t5 swap questions
I want to start off by saying I used the search option and could not find all the information I needed so I decided to make my own post. First, the donor car is a 1988 Firebird Formula and the recipient of the swap is a 1992 Camaro RS. My Camaro has a 1973 Chevy 350 in it. My first question is what parts that are on my Camaro are compatible for the swap and what parts should I take off of the Firebird and keep. Also, what am I going to have to do to insure my speedo works properly. If you need anymore information about either of my vehicles just let me know. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Re: auto to t5 swap questions
the tech section has an article on the swap, its pretty much spot on.
try using fewer words in the search, there are tons are threads on it.
as for parts from the doner
bellhousing, fork
pedals, and associated switches
hydraulics
trans and sender
lower shifter boot
flywheel, seriously consider a new one
clutch and pressureplate, again get a new one
pilot, a new one comes with a new clutch and pressure plate
the upper console/shifter plate wont fit, *but if it in good shape without power mirrors, i would be very interested in buying it, PM me let me know. even if it has power mirrors let me know*
that should be it. Your 92 should have an electric speedo so it will hook right up, as for the speedo being right, it all depends if the donor car has the same gear ratio as yours. Maybe the bird has a better rear than the maro? unlikely but maybe swap it out too.
and like i mentioned earlier, rear the tech article, its quite useful
