Shift issue when you manually shift 700R4

When you place the shifter in overdrive, come to a complete stop and floor it, the car shifts at 4800 rpm, works like it should.

When you place the shifter in 1st and floor it, you can shift in to second just fine, when you try to shift into third, nothing happens it stays in 2nd, even if you shift into overdrive, the only way it shifts if you let off the throttle.

I just did a filter and fluid change, replaced the govenor as well.

Adjusted TV cable per procedure

Any ideas on the cause/reason

Re: Shift issue when you manually shift 700R4

It makes the 2-3 shift at 4800 with the shifter in OD? That's interesting because alot of people, myself included, have trouble getting the 700R4 to make a WOT 2-3 shift, regardless of the shifter position. Mine will FINALLY shift, up at about 6200rpm. ATTENTION: Dana at ProBuilt- Why doesn't the 700R4 want to make a WOT 2-3 shift at a "normal" shift point.....I've got the heaviest weights and the lightest springs from the B&M shift point (governor modification) kit installed. It does finally shift, but only when you're so frustrated you just keep the throttle pinned and say,"It shifts, or it comes apart!" Other than that, I love my ProBuilt 700R4. -Bill
P.S: the above post came up while I was typing my post. My trans has a new 3-4 clutch pack (ProBuilt street/strip rebuild kit).
Dana????

I called Dana from Pro Built and he and I had a five minute conversation. Turns out his last suggestion of fluid level fixed the issue. Dumped a half quart in, it was a little past the top hot mark, but I through it in any way. It solved the issue.

Dana, I did put the car in 1st and then manually shifted into second, then contunied right to OD and the transmission shifted fine. I then held it in second and then shifted to third and it was fine.

Thanks for the help!

If you let off the throttle just a little it will shift?
