I've got a big problem here... I'm installing a Transgo T74165 shift kit in my 87 Iroc... The instructions are not very good to say the least. According to everything I've read both in the included instructions and on the web, I've got TWO extra check *****. One on the valve body itself and one from above the separator plate. That would be a total of six above the plate and three below the plate.

Oddly, mine is an 87 with the aux valve body so there should only be two checkballs in the VB itself. Further, the location of the third is in the bevelled hole right above the TV valve. No diagrams anywhere show a check ball here. And yes, there is another checkball in the aux VB where it should be.

The one that has me stumped though it the one from above the separator plate. I managed to get the plate down level with all checkballs in their original location, but as I lowered the plate, the sixth ball fell right into the catch can for the fluid. I easily fished it out but there is no indication of where it belongs.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok on further inspection, I found the location where this ball goes by looking at the wear marks on the separator plate... However, now I can see there is ANOTHER ball (missing). This does not match the instructions at all. Lame

Well that was easy enough... I got through to tech support and they explained everything. They only show the final assy instructions and the extra ***** are to be left out. I still can't find the 7th ball yet but I won't need it either way.
