Aluminum Driveshaft
Today I received a used aluminum driveshaft (from Hawk's), it has a part number decal on it (P/# 10085375). It has a couple of nicks / dings / gouges that look OK, but about 12" forward of the rear yoke it has an area about 1.5" wide that has been abraded by something, apparently while the D/S was turning (like a "turned down" area). The area is .005"-.015" deep; you definately feel it when you run your hand over it. It must have happened recently to being pulled from the car as the rest of the shaft was greasy except for this area (jumped right out at me when unwrapping). It is fairly smooth (could have even been from a rag getting tangled on the D/S, as the aluminum is soft). Of course it would be better if it wasn't there, and it was definately visible before shipping because of the grease removed from the area..... Do you think I should be concerned, enough to consider returning it? Thanks for your input!

Re: Aluminum Driveshaft
Try it out and see. Some imperfections are original and some could be mad during a re-balance
