transmission mount help
when i accelerate hard theres a loud clunking noise right below the shifter and it holds back some of the power off the line. ive been told by a few sources (including here) the transmission mount probably needs replacing.
im going to sound really dumb here but... i cant find find my transmission mount. it could be gone completely or broken off, but i dont know where to look and so i dont know how to replace it. could someone tell me what it looks like/where it is, or if they have a picture of it around, could you put it up? that would help a lot. sorry for the dumb question...

Re: transmission mount help
get under your car and look for a crossmember that goes from one frame rail to the other, if you are standing next to your door and get down it should be close to that area. in the middle of this crossmember should be a nut, going straight up from that there should be this rubber think that sits in between the crossmember and the tranny.
i cant do pictures but on this guys car the nut is where the arrow is.
this is kind of what it looks like but instead of the three holes, it just has a shaft sticking out of the rubber like block, with threads cut into it so the nut with tighten up. http://store.summitracing.com/largei...ns-3-1108g.jpg
in the picture it looks like this guy's is a bolt, but if yours is stock and never been replaced, then it will just be a nut. the one from summit is the one i am using, went thru stock replacement ones like crazy.
