Ok,
Heres the question, for all the 700R4 experts..
How much pressure is on the Corvette Servo?? how does this servo operate?

This all goes back to when I was driving about 80, I punched it, and the 700R4 down shifted, and I took off, looked in rear view mirror and saw nothing but white smoke. ( I posted this in a smiliar thread)

Anyway the steel clip channel broke, the case needs to be replaced.

Has anybody with this corvette servo seen this problem?

Just need to know that the weakest link was the case, not the increased pressure from the corvette servo

BTW, I am lucky the trans fulid didnt start a fire, it sprayed all over my exhaust!! its real nasty under the car..

Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated.

the corvette servo doesn't add fluid pressure. it has a bigger apply area for the fluid to act against thereby applying more holding force to the 2/4 band. it didn't cause your snap ring to break the case. extremely high fluid pressure or a faulty case caused this. most likely a weak snap ring groove in the case.
