ES Tranny mount and pinion angle...

On the 89 IROC, the tranny mount broke. Replacing it today and noticed that with the preload bar that is supplied with the mount, the new mount is about 1/4" or so taller than the stock mount.

Did the stock mount compress 1/4" or am I going to have some vibration problems?

Also, and this ticks me off, the cross member slot is too small for the bolt. Gotta drill or file it out.

yea you gotta **** with it to get it to bolt, but its much better

dont use that stupid plate that they give you, just the mount it self against the tranny that plate messes up the pinion angle and causes vibration

another vote for the no-plate... works great without it.

Well...I didn't take your advice, I put the stupid plate in and sure enough, I get some vibration at higher rpm.

yeah, it's not even that hard (10 minutes) to remove. Took longer to change my clothes and wash my hands.

If you followed the directions that came with it, you probably put it in... They say you have to... But, of course you do not..
