What B&M Shifter to take place of my factory?
I would like to have a shifter that operates the same as the one in my camaro (85 700-r4)
I have been in a transam that had one where you pushed it down and it would shift if you slamed it forward all the way, backward all the way, but had to be manually shifted for every gear.
I still want the option of an automatic tranny but the ability to get a faster shift without a chance of slipping.....
any tips?

B&M megashifter..80692..for 82-92 camaro/firebird 700r4..fits factory console..i have it and is a really nice shifter and comes with a new shift plate and a polished t handle..and a cool ribbed shift boot. it uses ratcheting action for shift so ya don't screw up when your manual shifting! its sweet

Shifter
I have the B&M Mega Shifter Model 80692 and you can shift it manually or let it shift by itself..You will have to cut your console plate to use the B&M plate..I went to the junkyard and found a Camaro console plate for $5 and cut that one so I could save my orginal one...After cleaning the used one up. it looked like new..But I know you will Love the Looks and Shift of the B&M MegaShifter..

I have the B&M Megashifter in my camaro. It works good for me. The only thing I regret about putting it in is that I tore my old one all to pieces taking it out. I would probably have trouble selling the car with it in there because alot of people wouldn't want a shifter like that.

My $25 megashifter. Looks good, fits good, shifts good. Its impossible to shift into the wrong gear.

The Megashifter is definitely a great shifter.
Only complaint I have is that the clear coat came off the handles on both of mine, but that can be fixed fairly easily.
