I am 99.99% sure there is no problem w/ the balance. We are talking "HAIRS" of material taken off...nothing to worry about...

wont effect the balance. ive seen people load paint on the shaft without problems. what did you use to polish it?

I used 3M Rubbing Compound, Tripoli, White Rouge, Swirl Remover, and Aluminum Polish...The Tripoli and Rouge didn't have that much affect on it, but they did help w/ the little corners, etc...
Used a Buffer on 1750, and a 2700rpm drill w/ a wheel for the ends.
