v6-v8 700r4 convertors??
what is needed to convert the v6 700r4 into the v8, someone told me all I need was the bellhousing... I am wanting to do a 350 swap.. it's a 91 camaro... I would like to keep my original tranny, its in good shape... Also the 350 is going to be carb'd..

The bellhousing should be the same for the v8 and v6. The only thing you will need to convert it is a bracket for the t.v. cable. Holley sells them for like $15

4.3 (90* V6) bellhousing/transmission will work I think.. not a 2.8/3.1/3.4 (60* V6).
The bellhousing is attatched to the transmission last time I looked at my old 700r4s (v6 and a v8)..... also some of the V6 guys are having trouble with their old automatics holding up to the "power" of the 3.4L motors they are swapping in.... so I doubt it would last long behind a V8 if you were able to put it in anyway. Also I read the spline is different for a v8 vs v6 T5, I would imagine the 700r4 would be the same way.
Hope that helps

EDIT: attatched = not removable

The 700 on the 2.8 will not work. you are much better off to find/biuld a 700 for a v-8. to make the transmission out of the v-6 work you need a new case, new torque convertor............. I have done the same conversion. there is a lot of work involved to do this conversion and make it look good, not a back yard cobble job. you also will have to address the fuel issue as well. put alot of thought into the matter and ask lots of questions. it will help! you are at the right site for all the help you could ever ask for!! good luck on the conversion- you will love it when it is all done
