yoke won't go in the trans
got my tailshaft bushing changed in my t5, in hopes of remedying a bad vibration.
unfortunately now the drive shaft will not slide into the trans. i get just started in the bushing and thats it, i hammered on it a little and it moved some but then i could not turn the shaft.
the wierd part is that before the bushing was put in the trans it fit the yoke on the driveshaft without any trouble..... does the bushing close up when you drive it in to the trans?
btw it was a timken bushing and seal kit from advance auto.. part #5200 i believe
any thoughts???

I has the exact same thing happen with the bushing I got in my Hanlon T5 rebuild kit. Problem is, like a dumbass, I had the yoke cut a few thousands so it fits. Fine, it fits now, BUT now it leaks like the Niagara falls because the seal itself is 1.5 inches in diameter and now the yoke is smaller so it can fit the stupid bushing.
So my advice to you is, take out the tranny, and remove the offending bushing and replace it. Before you put the thing in the car, make sure your driveshaft slides in!! Don't assume anything! I did, and I'm very sorry for it.
p.s. The way I fixed it I just used anothe tailhousing I had laying around, bolted it on the T5 and used another driveshaft that still had a non-modified yoke. (1.5 in diameter).

i read in another post that i found here by using that, "search" button. that many times an after market or parts store bushing will cause this problem and to just go to gm and get one, so i went ahead and did that, now i just gotta wait for it to get here.
tomorrow though the trans and driveshaft are going to the guy that put the bushing in there, cuz he claims he can get it in. which some how scares me.........
will post an update for any that are interested

yes it is the same yoke, as a matter of factly i got three of'em here and none will go in,
upon purchasing the seal and bushing kit, i slid the bushing onto the yoke with no effort at all. in fact i thought it was a bit sloppy,

Are you sure the keys on the yoke and the tailshaft are lining up?
