Axle C clip ques

Are axle C clips available in different thickness's? I've searched and looked around at different suppliers and haven't found much.

Currently the axles have excessive end play. This causes them to bang as they move in/out too far.

Thanks,

RBob.

Not sure, but the different years/types of axles may have different sizes/thickess "C" clips. If those are your stock axles/clips one or both may be worn out and getting ready to go.

That's a thought, possibly a mix and match to get the required thickness. It isn't a wear problem, the rear is new and the hi-perf axles (Moser) C clip grooves are cut a tad too wide. Since getting these axles I now find that this is a common problem with aftermarket axles.

Rbob,

Can you follow up if/when you find out? I'm getting new axle shafts soon, and will need to know as well.

Thanks!

They still bang in/out with the pinion shaft in place? Any chance of sending them back to Moser? At $300/set, that shouldn't happen...

Hey RBob,

I dug this 3 year old post up cause I am looking for C-Clips.

Did you ever find a source for C-Clips or did you just live with the clunk?

Thanks.

I never found any C clips of different thickness. Just been living with it. Another poster having this problem made up lash caps. These fit over the ends of the axles and take up play. User name was firechicken35?
