Dana 44 and Aluminum Driveshaft
The front U-joint on my aluminum shaft seized up so I pulled it out and replaced both the front and rear. I thought that the shaft and Dana 44 both had 1310 yokes, so I used Spicer 5-153X joints, but when I went to put it back in the car the Dana 44 had a larger 1330 yoke, so I had to use a 5-134X. Is it normal to have a 1330 yoke in a thirdgen Dana 44?

GMPP shows part number 12545628 as the u-joint kit for the Dana 44 and that is for a 1310 yoke and a 1310 yoke was on my Dana 44 when I got it.
The first thing I did with my Dana was replace the yoke with a 1350 size yoke for a new 3 1/2 dia. aluminum driveshaft that has a 1350 joint in the front also.

Re: Dana 44 and Aluminum Driveshaft
Old post but it seems to fit with what I have.
I just bought a Precision 369 U joint.. Dana 44 with stock aluminum driveshaft.
However... when I got it home it's to short on the yoke side.
I couldn't find anything but a ruler laying close by to measure with and roughly it came out to 3 3/4" but looking at another site it listed the 1330/1350 as being 3 5/8".
I didn't think to measure the end cap area but it seemd like the 369 joint fit fairly well.
Seems like I need the 5-134X joint.
