The alison 1000 trans is an 5 speed auto i believe correct if im wrong. They use it in the heavy duty trucks and the gear ratios are as follows. A 3.10:1 1st, 1.81:1 2nd, 1.41:1 3rd, 1:1 4th, and .7:1 overdrive fifth gear. I hear the alisons are very strong and with those gear ratio ratios it pretty close to a 700r4 but with another gear so is there any way you can bolt one of these up to an older small block im sure id have to mess with a bunch of computer stuff but other than that any one know if its possible and if it is what it takes to do it.

You would never be able to fit it into a third gen. The truck tranny is huge.

he could always cut a big hole in the floor and have the tranny as his console/arm rest. lol dude even i of all ppl know those trannies are freakin huge. to big. what nothings to big well my girlfriend says there is, definitely not me sorry that was pretty pointless but i found some disturbing humor to it

Same length as a 700R4 but taller.

We have those transmissions in our trucks where I work at,which is garbage dispoal.Very huge and strong. We have the push button on the consol type which is a 6spd and a shifter which is a 5spd.A good small bock or big block couldn't kill it.Our truck have the Detroit 4900 530hp with over 1000lbs of torque.
