anybody ever get a flywheel, at autozone......

or any other similar store, i have access to napa, autozone, orielly's, advance auto, and carquest, and of course a local gm dealer(whom i'd rather not visit)

i'm talking about a flywheel for my 84 lg4 car, that i am putting a t5 in.

after several used ones, have been found and arrangements have fallen through for whatever reason, i have decided to just get a new one

i also have an LMC truck catalog sitting here, it has a flywheel listed that i think would work, its just gotta be for an internal balance small block, pre 1985, 153 tooth right?

That flywheel will work if you have the two piece rear main
seal. BTW, how much are they asking for it?

130? I dont know about sticks much so forgive me. I needed a flywheel for my 700R4 and new at advance auto it cost like $35. That seems high, but for a stick it might be different. You need a flywheel for a swap, you dont know fear until you shatter your flywheel and it sounds like a spun bearing.

wow, ONLY $130 for a manual flywheel

i've gotten quotes from the GM parts departmartment at work, (and i even get a GM employee discount) and the cheapest brand new flywheel they could me was about $250

so if you can get a lite-weight for $130.......jump on it!

oh yeah, manual flywheels cost alot more than auto's cuz the auto is skinny as hell, whereas the manual is about thicker with more area to allow the clutch to grab, as so you can cut them to remove the glaze when changing the clutch

hope i helped
