This was all Advance had for posi fluid, and nobody else is open when I'm not at work. I've got a guy coming up tomorrow night to help me install my Zexel Torsen diff and my moser axles, so I need it fast. Is this stuff any good or should I send my father to the Chevy dealer tomorrow for the GM stuff? It's a pretty big inconvenience for him, otherwise I'd just have him do it instead of asking. Thanks.

The GM stuff seems to be the general consensus. I'm having my father stop tomorrow to get me a couple. How many of those little things should I add to the diff, just 1?

by the way isn't the zexel a gear unit?, not a clutch type?

I used it once. After a high speed run on the highway, I turned into a 7-eleven, and I got everbody in the parking lot to stare at my car. It sounded like somebody was beating on my rearend as I was turning. I only use GM posi- additive, now!

I don't think so. This is a 2002 Z28 take-out diff from SLP.

I thought the take-off's were gears! But I think they recommend the posi additive anyway- hell, at most, it can't hurt the rear, only the wallet. I put the GM additive in when I re-did my Eaton gov-lock posi (really a locker), just for the hell of it.

The gov-lock would probably still be working if I remembered to readjust my rear e-brakes after putting the caliper recall kit in- the ebrakes were dragging, and that's probably what blew up the gov-lock- it got realllllly confused.

Dad had 2 bottles delivered to his shop today. My shim & bearing kit came from summit too. I have everything I need for this swap. Hopefully I'll get the whole thing done tonight.

I used two tubes (thats about 14 oz) of trans ex in my 7.5 with an auburn posi. It would make bad noises around corners when hot. Called auburn and they said they get several calls a day about people using this crap. Said use 4 oz gm or ford additive and gear oil, I got gm oil and ford additive since gm was out, no problems since.

The SLP take-off is a Torsen posi unit and it does not have any clutches. It uses the same worm gear design that the HD Torsen T-2R does that people rave about. The only difference is that the T-2R one has more worm gears and a beefier case for added strength and preloaded clutches that keep it 'locked' in posi mode unless the torque differential from one axle to the other is fairly high. So it really shouldn't need the additive....... but the additive may make it operate a bit smoother than without......
