Is the 305 TBI torque converter and L98 converter the same?

Hi,

Is a 305 TBI torque converter different from a L98 torque converter stock from GM? The reason I ask is that I have just swapped in a L98 in place of my 305 TBI and would like to have the right torque converter to finish this project off.

Thanks in advance.

The L98 torque convertor can rev up higher then the Lo3 version. I think the Lo3 is only like 1300-1400 stall and the L98 version is I believe around 1800-2000 stall.

Is that behind the same engines? Since torque affects stall speed, the LO3 torque convertor will stall higher behind an L98 than it would an LO3.
