WTF would cause this?
I just took out my rebuilt trans again cause I'm still have problems with it and suspected that it could be the torque converter. I wish that I had a digital camera to show you pics of what I'm talking about but I'll describe it that best that i can. When I looked down into the TC I noticed that there was two circlular carvings gouged into the TC about two inches above where the stator teeth would be. Then I closely looked at the input shaft, past the seal with a flash light and also saw two circular carvings all the way around the shaft. I'm 95 percent sure that I put the TC on right to begin with. I had at least 1/2 inch of clearance between the TC and flexplate after the bellhousing was bolted up. Any ideas to what may have happened would be great.

Nothing, it sounds normal to me except if it looks like it is raw metal, like it is shiney and there were lots of metal particles in the pan or metal came out of the converter.

So this doesn't sound like putting the converter on wrong right? I just don't want the guy to tell me that he is not gonna give me a new trans and converter because the thinks I put it on wrong.

The clearance between the flex plate should be .100-.125 of an inch, anymore than this could bring on front pump problems. Since I can't see your problem, I will not be able to offer anything.
