Plastic Gas Tank?

Good morning. I have a 1991 GTA with an L98 350.

I am maintaining/upgrading my fuel system in my 1991 Trans Am L98 350 after it sat in my garage for the last four years.

How involved is it to upgrade to a plastic tank? (I have to drop the tank anyway to get to the fuel pump.). Is this a bad idea because it reduces weight over the rear axle? Is a 4th Gen F-Body tank plug-and-play? If so, what year tank will I need? What other parts will I need for the installation? Is there a better tank available?

Thanks again!
Bill

Re: Plastic Gas Tank?

The plastic tank is actually slightly heavier, but only a few pounds, nothing to worry about. It is not plug and play, but it fits in the space the same and the same straps. I believe the year spread is 99-02
The plastic tank swap has been covered many, many, many times. Read in the LT/LS swap forum
