Anyone running Comp Cams 08-501-8 in L98?
Anyone running Comp Cams 08-501-8 in L98? I have this cam in my 1989 L98 IROC-Z. Right now I am running this cam with ported intake and Magnaflow Dual Cat-back exhaust. This cam really woke up my stock L98. My question is what other Mods can I do that will get me the best bang for the buck. I would like to go with new heads, headers etc. but I don't know what the limitations of the Cam I already have put in are. Anyone have any suggestions on heads, rocker arms or anything else to get some more HP?

That's the cam I'm running.
As Orr89RocZ said, it does really well with my short runner Miniram. The advertised 5200 rpm limit seems to be a little conservative since for me the engine pulls hard to at least 6000 rpm. It's a very good street cam with very good street manners... smooth idle, hauls a$$, and gets ~27 mpg highway (with ECM's highway mode dialed in and overdrive + 3.42 axle ratio).

Currently running that cam on a factory intake and 083 heads. Still has good power. Can't wait to put my ported set up on in and see how much much I am currently missing out on.

yeah, should be a very easy cam to tune for. Probably some minor changes to VE/spark and the PE. Though, a WB O2 is highly advisable to tuning the PE.

I forgot to say that my car is tuned for this cam and I have mildly ported the TPI lower intake as well as the upper plenum and enlarged TPI factory runners.
I guess I should rephrase my question. Would a new set of heads/ rockers, springs be worth investing in already having this CAM installed? Would I see a good increase in HP?
