Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

I have a 87 Monte Carlo SS with a 89 MAF 350 TPI conversion. I've been running it for about 4 years. Last week my smog pump crapped out. Was making a terrible noise. Since New Jersey no longer does emission testing on cars of my vintage, I removed the smog pump and air valves and installed a bypass pulley from TPI Parts.net. My question is; what do I need to change in the bin? I'm running the ARAP bin with 6e mask.

Thanks

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

Set this parameter to 150* C (302* F):

LC324 FCB 73 ; 14c COOL, IF LT THRESH, DIVERT AIR

That will force the ECM to always divert the air, basically turning off the AIR functionality in the ECM.

Another way is to enter ff at $324 in the hex editor.

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

Thanks RBob and Tuned Performance. I'm using TunerPro Rt, basically a beginner with it, but I've been tuning (editing some parameters) for about a year now. I have no idea how to do hex editing, but I'll google it. I gotta learn sometime.

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

Once you have your .bin loaded hit control-h .
This will bring up the hex editor.
Go to $324 type ff then save the .bin

Thank You Tuned Performance. I actually did find the hex table by stumbling around TunerPro. But wasn't sure how to find $324. How did you learn this stuff?

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

Trial and a lot of error lol, glad you figured it out.
There is a learning curve to make more use out of tunerpro rt. It's way better than tuner cat witch I started out using years ago.

Tuned: Just to be sure it is where the cursor is right? Replace '40' with 'FF'?

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

The cursor shows the address, it's where the | is . The value on this tune star is 49 , that would need to be changed to ff .

Everytime I read one of these threads it is like reading French.

Id love to have the time to try and learn it though. Hats off to those that do. Maybe one day I'll jump into it.

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

I added air divert coolant temp to the scalars.
I have also added more flags.

Re: Smog Pump Removed; Needed Changes to Bin

Thanks for posting that file Tuned Performance. Comparing it to the standard xdf I've been using, it has several differences. I got allot to learn. You could write a book on this stuff.
