I have been having some weird, to say the least, problems with my car. Problems such as not wanting to fire up right away and not firing up at all. I had the ignition control module (the one located under the distributor cap) tested and it was fine. I stopped at Napa to get a new relay for my auxiliary coolant fan and for the mass air flow burn off circuit, because I kept getting a code for the burn off relay. Then when I replaced the relays for the auxiliary coolant fan, the fan still wouldn't come on. So, out came the multi-meter When I tested the wires that activated the relay I had 12v at each one. I then unplugged the ecm, and checked the wire for voltage at the connection of the harness ( not the ecm), and I have no voltage. I then plugged the ecm back into the harness and tested that wire and had 12v. The circuit I am referring to is d11 from the ecm. I did all the testing with terminals a and b jumped. So, my conclusion is that I am getting 12 volts from the ecm where I should be a ground.

well a ground will show 12v should it not if the circuit is closed?

It should, but the circuit was open when I tested it. I had both relays removed.

So, I have 12 volts coming out of Pin d11 on the ecm (engine control module). I cut the wire coming directly from d11 so that I could eliminate any possibility of a short somewhere else in the harness.

Im thinking that maybe there is a sensor that is sending voltage through a ground, so I may unplug every sensor one by one until I find the one that brings the voltage to pin d11 back to 0v
