what would it take for low 13's high 12's
I have a 89 formula l-98 6200 miles runs very strong only mods are UD pulleys ported runners and plenum CAI thats it. I want to kep the tpi set up and was wondering what it would take to hit the numbers. Also should add no nitrous, super charger or turbo. is it even possible with just a cam and some 1.6 rr or would need alot more thanks.

255/50/16 Drag radial tires
2400-2600 rpm torque converter
100Hp shot of nitrous.
That should go 12's if it hooks. Want quicker? Put the 150hp jets in the system.
That is the best way to 12's.

Intake runners, intake base, underdrive pullies, AC/SMOG delete if possible, CAI or Ram air box mod, high flow filters or no filters, Headers, Exhaust, 1.6 rockers, Hotter ignition coil, ign module, and wires although this doesnt really add power it helps rule out any electrical shortcomings from an old car, suspension mods from shocks/springs, LCA's LCA brackets, adj panhard bar if lowered, bushings etc.
Stall, gear, tires, adjusted tranny shift points if necessary. Burn a new chip with aggressive timing curve and fine tune the fuel curve for max power. Premium fuel.
That will get you mid to low 13's fairly easily if motor is in good shape and strong.

also if anyone didnt mention it already, tune up EVERYTHNIG before you do any mods. Tps, o2 sensor, maf sensor, and on top of that take the screen out of the maf sensor. Thats about all I can thnk of on top of everyone else.

The best bang for the buck mod is headers. Take it to the track first and see where you're at right now. Headers are easily a 3/10ths second improvement in the 1/4 mile.
