carb to tpi fuel?

Re: carb to tpi fuel?
I seem to remember that GM, being thrifty, used the same tank in carb cars as in the EFI cars. The difference is in the sending unit assembly itself. In fact most of the factory carb cars had an electric booster pump in the tank to prevent vapor lock. I don't remember for sure about fuel lines on the carb cars. The TPI has a 3/8" supply, a 5/16" return and a 1/4" or 5/16" vapor line that went to the canister. You would definitely need to install high pressure fuel hoses wherever there is rubber fuel line.
I swapped TPI from an 88 Formula into an 84 Z28 but I think I used the tank and fuel lines out of the donor car.

I hate people who cut up these cars just to avoid dropping the tank to replace the fuel pump. It's not that hard of a job. If you want to get away from dropping the tank, install an in line pump with a filter before it and replace the in tank pump with a length of braided hose. Then You never need to back in the tank again unless the sending unit fails. I'm so glad that no one ever cut up my baby. It would be different if someone actually took the time to do a clean job of this mod so that it looked like it was built this way. The ones I've seen have looked like backyard hack jobs.
The Holley ECM should have fuel pump control just like the factory ECM. It should have a relay in the harness package to power the pump. I got creative and used the relay in my ACCEL DFI to run two OE relays for my dual pumps.
