BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I just installed a heated o2 and it is working good. I have attached the data log for your review. The BLM seems frozen at 128 (wish it was that perfect ). Also it would never go into closed loop? I do not see where anything is checked, changed, or modified that would cause this. I have disabled the EGR by maxing out MAT enable temp and increased the idle/temp table to help with cold starts. Open to suggestions

Im using the AUJN bin and Tunerpro

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I have had issues lately with $6E doing the glitching , I think I started seeing it with a tunerpro update. I'm not sure if the malfunctions are caused bye a bad ground or the glitch. Why the int and blm are locked it maybe a bad hack on the mat parameter . Set 0x247 back to 1E . And try another data log.

That would be 50f close enough.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

lol...yeah. What a difference a period can make. Hope to burn a couple of proms and go crusing a little this weekend. I have noticed that cuising it feels almost like a slight miss in the ignition. Im wondering if the craziness with the prom is causing this as well?

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I wonder if the surge is a lean fuel condition ?

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

According to the o2 readings I would say yes. Not sure without the BLM moving

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

you might try a different calibration like aujm, you can disable the highway mode or charge the target air fuel vs lv8

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

Just a thought, and forgive me if I'm wrong as I'm so used to newer systems, but I don't believe that BLM or INT are going to move from neutral in open loop. They only change in closed loop. Things that can prevent closed loop are the O2 sensor not crossing .450, coolant temp too low. Have you verified power and ground to the O2 heater? Have you verified that the O2 sensor is reading? Even in open loop, it should respond to throttle snap if it is at operating temp.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

Would the highway mode activate if not in closed loop? I found a Bin for a stock 89 vette that looked good. The MAF flow vs RPM is a little higher than the stock 89 AUJN I'm using.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I'm not sure what you mean by "highway Mode". That is not a GM term that I've ever heard. The BLM has several different cells based on engine speed and load. These will only be active in closed loop.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

Yes the O2 is operating and engine runs around 170 to 190 degrees. The O2 readings are showing way lean conditions but the BLM is staying at 128 as if it is locked.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

on the log you are around 155F so it should go into closed loop but the cross counts were speratic no more than 6 . the o2 grounds through the ecm on the back of the drivers side cylinderhead. This could be a bad ecm or ground.

do you have a wide band gauge installed ? if not thats a great tool. another thought is just to work on cell 0

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

Tuned performance is correct that this may be a grounding issue. BLM responds to INT. Integrator is short term fuel trim and responds to trends in O2 voltage. Block learn module is long term and responds to trends in integrator. It is INT that should be going high as the O2 trends low. When INT stays high trying to keep O2 voltage centered around .450, then BLM will rise from 128. BLM will continue to rise until INT centers around 128.

I have not been able to open your PDF so I can't see your datalog. I will tell you that if O2 voltage is not crossing .450 sufficiently, the system will not go closed loop.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

If the ground checks out good I have a extra 165 ecm you can borrow for just the shipping. If it fixes it we can work out a deal for purchase if that helps. But I would verify your ground first adding a second ground strap to the stud is always a good idea

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I appreciate the offer and the advice. I will double check the grounding strap and go ahead and add another while I am at it. I know poor grounds can cause a lot of headaches.

Re: BLM frozen and No closed loop?

I haven't had the money to get a WB o2 yet. I had thought about just borrowing the one off my wifes car. Then I would need to get a bung welded in.

Off topic but is that a strut tower brace with an HSR I see in your photo?
