Trying to replace my injectors in my 86 305tpi. Quick question advanced auto parts said bosch part # 0280150238 but found some on ebay with # 0280150222 and was wondering if they would work?

I would just upgrade to the bosch 3 from southbay fuel injectors, make sure you tell them your a tgo member for a 10% discount.

can't go wrong with 19lb Bosch 3 injectors from South Bay. Made a huge difference in my car (92 TPI). Idles better and mileage got a lot better.

Just saying....don't fool around with the injectors can make such a difference.

Another vote for Southbay... got my 19lbs Bosch III's...
They add an adapter to them to make them stock height, so if you have an aftermarket tpi base, tell them, you won't need the adapters they put on... they have a 3 year warranty, and give a discount! Car is running and idling better for me too... 91 TPI 5 speed...

I got 36lb. Bosch iii's from InjectorsPlus with a lifetime warranty for $240 roughly and am now asking about the fitment issue. They are slightly shorter than the stock Multec injector and do not use a retaining clip to keep the injector in the rail. South bay used to use an additional o-ring to solve the height issue before installing an adapter and I am now looking into that. John at InjectorsPlus has been a great technical resource and I'm just waiting for his reply. My injectors are going into a SDPC vortec base with the Superram. I don't know why you would limit yourself to 19lb injectors if you're going to mod your car for more power later. You're going to need to tune the car and your motor is going to need more fuel anyway later.

You shouldn't recommend larger injectors on a stock-ish Lb9, he would have a difficult time tuning for that. It's not like you can run even a #22 and get the pressure down low enough to flow the engine's needs it will still be running too rich. wow 36#hr are you running a 383 with boost

No that is incorrect 19#hr and 22#hr run at the same fuel pressure you are comparing orifice size.

I've been looking at South bay, too. But I don't know what size to get. Going to be a vortec headed 350 tpi with lt4 hot cam.

Notice how on the fuel injector calculator, 19lb injectors at an 80% duty cycle and rail pressure of max out at 242 HP. If you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (and want to spend the money for it!) then you could get 262 HP out of 19lb. injectors. So think hard about what mods and power level you can get out of your combo because buying injectors twice is a waste of money. Instead of having $200-300 for headers, cat back, tuning or whatever, you're going to have to spend it on another set of injectors because you decided to switch/port your heads and change cam and now you're running lean and close to burning a hole in the piston of the motor.

Keep in mind that switching injectors requires recalibration of your prom if you go up in injector size. So you need to budget for that too.

flow rate =(HP x BSFC) / (#Injectors X Maxcycle) your correct it's not wise to run over 80% Duty cycle if you want the injectors to live for very long.

Just got a set of Bosch IIIs from Southbay, but they are gray instead of yellow, with part #XS4U-AA 0-280-155-887. Can anyone tell me the correct color/part # from their Bosch IIIs?

Those are the 17#hr for a GM 3.1L
16.75 at 43.5 psi

you need there 19#hr for a tpi 305

It seems the Bosch IIIs came in both whitish-yellow and gray colors. (The dark yellow ones are 22lb/hr, whereas the whitish-yellow and gray ones are 19lb/hr.) The gray color is what is mainly available now. Not sure why all the companies use the pictures of the whitish-yellow one when they send out gray ones?

Southbay said they'll update their site with pics/info about the gray ones soon

Ok, so here is a pic of the 19lb bosch lll injectors....the white and the gray color that was in question. Both injectors flow 103cc static for 30 sec.
That is equivalent to 19.6 lb @ 43.5psi. We need to get a pic of the gray ones on our website so there will not be so much confusion.
