Running 1.7 Rockers and Removing PCV Baffle ???

So when I picked my heads up from the machine shop they spec'd my spring and said that I'd have no problem running anything up to .600 lift. They are AFR's w/ dual springs, screw in studs.

This being known, I started considering running 1.7 rockers. that would put the lift w/ the LT4 hot cam at just under .560.

Next Problem, Since my AFR's, are the older style w/ only provisions for centerbolt valve covers. I can't find a narrow body 1.7 so I was thinking of removing the Baffles and going with a catch can on the PCV system to prevent sucking oil into the intake. Searched around and didn't find much on it.

Main reason I am just thinking about it is because my rocker cost would go from $140 to $260 and I'd need to remove the baffles from my Valve covers and have to run an oil catch can, another $85. I'd also like to step up to 7/16 studs vs 3/8 for extra peace of mind for the added stress on the rocker stud. about another $40

So probably close to $400 for another 5-10 hp....I am already talking myself out of this.

Any constructive opinions? Anyone know of any issue's with running 1.7 rockers?

These are the rockers.

http://www.scorpioncheckout.com/Sear...ts.asp?Cat=194

I called Scorpion, they said they will fit under the centerbolt covers as far as height, they said the baffle will most likely be my only obstruction.

Re: Running 1.7 Rockers and Removing PCV Baffle ???

After a friend of mine gave me the flow number for my heads and finding out the heads only flow 3 more CFM at .550 than they do at .500. Yea I am just going to do 1.6's.
