TPI intake runners

This thread is regarding my TPI intake runners. I went to measure the length of them last Friday & I measured them from the base from top to bottom. The length was 12" long. I measured them 3 different times and the 1st time it came out to 11" but I didn't measure from the base that time. The other 2 times it was 12". From what I understand just about the intake runners they're supposed to be 17" long.

Could someone enlighten me on this? Me and my friend who were checking out my runners were looking at the work someone had did to them (in the years previous) because the runners had been ported for airflow. That's why we went to measure the runners because neither him nor me think they're stock runners.

If someone could tap on my brain to give me abit more extra knowledge on this I'd appreciate it. I have some books, experience working on these & so forth but 12" runners seem wrong unless they were cut short and evened out or maybe they're aftermarket?

Thank you.

Aren't the stock runners 17"? I've looked at my runners and compared them to other runners on various TPI's and they LOOK the same but of course pictures are 2 dimensional, therefore not completely accurate. Here's a close up picture of my driver side runners.

Well, at least the outside part is and thanks for answering my question guys. I wasn't too sure about it but there was porting of the intake done before I took possession of the car so that's good.
