ICM issues

So i've read some other thread about ICMs and it seems to be a common problem. So i just changed my ICM and when i went for a test drive immediately after seemed to run great! I thought it was fixed. Then, i shut off the car and when i went to leave again it started bucking, jerking, and missing......just like before. This happened to a couple other people in here. Normally with common problems, somebody figures out what the problem is or a way to fix it. So does anybody know why this keeps happening or the way to fix it? Please help!

Re: ICM issues

Ok so i replaced my ICM and it ran real good for 2days....then there was like a popping sound. Best way i can describe it, is that it sounded like an electrical short. This happened on the freeway btw. It was missing really bad but i made it home. Now it won't start. I checked voltage and the coil and its NOT getting 12V or a ground from the ICM. When the engine off and the key on the ICM should be pulsing the ground so it'll start. I don't have that or pwr from the ICM. The obvious answer is to replace the ICM. I'm trying to figure out what made it go bad all of a sudden. Do ICMs go bad like that? What happens if it overheats, will it do that? I put dioelectric grease under the ICM so i don't think it overheated. I guess my question is what are the symptoms if the ICM is overheating? Any ideas or help will be appreciated.
