Re: 22s w/out chip
Well it will most likely run but no it wont run well. And I dont mean by race standards but i mean more by just drive ability standards. The ECM calulates the fuel based on the injector flow rates and by increasing the injectors without programming the ECM the ECM will still think theres 19s installed when there are actually 22s. As result the PWM signal sent to the injectors will be the same but more fuel will be dumped in than expected. The car will run a bit rich. Just out of curiosity why would you want to install 22s on a 305? Bigger injectors will not increase performance. The only time you should really use bigger injectors is if you have exceeded your current injectors capabilities other wise you want to run the smallest injectors that will do the job.

Re: 22s w/out chip
It not the mileage I would be concerned with, its the extra fuel that is being pulsed through the injector, the stock computer thinks it has a 19lb injector, if you put in a 22 without a tune you will have 10% more fuel in the mixture, on closed loop the computer via the 02 sensor should correct by virtue of the blm being low (probably around 120). This will remove enough fuel to keep the A/F ratio back to a stoichometric mixture. However in open loop it will be rich allowing unburned hydro carbons to wash through your engine which over a long period of time could end up in your oil, it will also collect in the cats causing premature failure (maybe). So, imo the engine will run fine, the computer will compensate when in closed loop, but anytime an injector size is changed the tune should to be set properly. Bigger injectors by 10% would not affect gas mileage because the BLM will just keep taking out fuel. What happens when you drive from sea level to lets say colorado?, the computer compensates for the less dense air. So,again its all bunch of BS that a 305 won't run well on 350 injectors and your gas mileage will go to down.
