DIY Ram Air Boxes, looking for pics
I know the ram air really doesnt work, but thats what we seem to call what I'm looking for on this board.
I'm looking for pics of peoples DIY ram air boxes like hawks sells. Or like "1Bad91Z" has built.
I found I am getting ALOT of radiator heat soak in my air temps, so I'm wanting to cool it down a bit. Would like to start this coming weekend.
Thanks

Re: DIY Ram Air Boxes, looking for pics
I cant help you with pics, however, do this:
Open the hood to your Camaro. Remove the airlid, remove the twin air filters. Now look down where the air filters were, and remove the baffles (I think that they are held in place by a few small screws.
Now you should realize how an easy task it is to make your own cold air ram intake system. You can buy 4" diameter ducting material for the home. The bottom end of these two pieces will face forward on each side of where the license plate is mounted. This is a very effective home made ram air system.
One of the sponsors on thirdgen was selling a pre-fabbed ram air system. Look around for it. I thought that it was Hawks, but when I checked a few minutes ago, I did not find it there.

Yes hawks sells it. I looked at it before I posted this.
It appears to me that the bumper is slightly in the way for a strait down 5x5'ish box.
Any round material is going to choke the setup. It will also look crappy in the grill area.
