l98 engine

I have 91 z with a tpi 305, I found an 85 l98 vette engine w 66k miles on it. The price is $800.00. I was wondering is that a good price or not. Also how easy of a swap is it to go in my camaro. What would I have to do to my car and what should I keep from the corvette. Thanks guys.

Re: l98 engine

88 would be a MAF, so there'd be some wiring differences. The ECM would need to be upgraded to 350 specs (might as well go bigger while your upgrading anyways).

But, for the MOST part, a direct physical swap. Just a few wiring differences to sort out.

I think he said a 85 L98, which would be a whole different story no?

Re: l98 engine

My bad, but no. 85-88, virtually identical. Except, the cam would be even that much worse...worse heads....Even a worse choice overall.

Re: l98 engine

Wiring won't matter, just use the stock 91 setup and switch to a speed density Corvette .bin for the PROM.
Aren't 'Vette heads the same on all the L98 cars. Thought they all got the Aluminum L98s.

Probably have to swap over the accessories from the 91 305 as well..the alt/ps/air/AC
