EGR question
Im getting ready to install a new crate engine and i will be running headers and i was wondering what would happen if i left all the egr crap off and ran the stock prom chip. would it run? would it cause problems or should i get a new chip?

Re: EGR question
Your check engine light will be on, but it will run. It will be more prone to detonation without EGR as the combustion temps will be higher.

Re: EGR question
I bought an egr block off plate from tpis, removed all my smog equipment and had the guy who burned my chip to turn off the egr function.Car runs great.I need to buy some tuning eqipment and dial in my tune but other than that it`s fine.Supposedly it can cost you some mpg`s and as stated be more prone to detenation but I`ve noticed niether problem with my car.If yours is a daily driver and depending on where you live you may want to keep it.Mines not daily driven,50 to 100 miles a week. One reason I may not have had those problems is I`ve read that the lt4 cam I`m running is some kinda of self egr because of the way the valve overlap is or something.I havent researched much about that though just read a couple of posts stating that the lt4 cars had no egr because of the cam.
