Axle/Gears: alunimum drum limited slip 3.08
testing pick up coil

Is there a way to test the pick up coil?The car is a 91 LB9 w/ remote coil

Disconnect the pickup coil from the HEI switching module, then test resistance through it. Expect to read betwenn 500-1,500 ohms. 850 is optimal. Then check eack lead to ground on a high resistance scale. The resistance should be infinite. Any leakage to ground means a failed pickup coil.
