injector ohm testing

Anyboby know how many ohms the injectors in a 87 305 TPI should have.
I am having trouble starting (maybe injectors leaking?).
Also any suggestions on what to put in if injectors test bad.

16-17ohms would be factory.

Below 12 is considered unserviceable by GM according to the manuals.

Also u can block of the feed and return lines immediately after priming the pump and seeing how quick it leaks down. If it does it with both blocked you have a regulator bad or injectors leaking.

Also, u have a cold star injector that tends to leak and also a temp sensor/switch for the cold start that can go bad and cause starting issues.

Any idea where the temp sensor is. This could be my problem. Car cranks for quite awhile before starting, seems ok after running.
I also wonder if it couldn't be the fuel pump relay. I just put in a new AC-Delco pump & the filter is new.

The temp sensor for the cold start injector is on the intake base next to the CTS sensor, you will recognize temp sensor for the cold start injector looks like the injector style adapter.

Well I checked all of the injectors & all 8 are between 16.5 to 17 Ohms. The cold start injector only reads 4.1 Ohms. I think this is not a good reading. Should the cold start injector read the same as the other 8?
Maybe this injector is my problem.
Thanks for the info on the cold start sensor. Any test for this?
It looks like I'm narrowing the problem down. I would appreciate if anyone can give me some info on the cold start injector ohms & testing the temp. sensor. It's getting pretty nice in Ohio & I would like to start driving!!!

Check the coolant temp sensor, and the connector, thats what caused my starting problems

I'm new to TPI myself, but I'm pretty sure the cold start injector is supposed to be lower resistance than the main injectors. In fact, it's an entirely different beast. It seems to be an on/off valve for fuel flow instead of being pulsed like the main injectors. It's not even controlled by the ECM. The whole system is a band-aid because they didn't account for cold start enrichment in the ECM code, if you ask me. I think that resistance you posted is OK. Someone else will chime in if I'm wrong.

I would try changing your fuel pump relay. They are around $10. I had the same problem you are describing, and that fixed it. Hopefully that would be your problem as well.

Any idea exactly which one it is. I know the fuel pump relay is by the power brake booster but I'm not sure which one. There are several in that area.
