Super TPI advice

I have a primarily stock L98 engine in my fire bird with few mods. i have a chip, fabricated cold air induction with k&n filter, 11mm wires, edelbrock headders, and perf. cap and rotor. I would like some advice and or combinations that would make my firebird fly. Mainly dealing with the cam, induction, and feul system... you know the hard stuff. Also my car doesnt like to start on the first turn of the key all the time. It always starts but its obviously not right. I used to get the code for MAF sensor burn off circut relay and i changed that and reset the computer but it still does it every time. Some advice on that would be nice too.
-Thanks

As far as your car not starting on the first turn of the key right away that is common with most MAF cars. I give mine a two second turn on the first key. Then the second time around it fires right up.

The 1st thing you need to decide on is what route you are going to take on heads. Thats is where you power is going to be made. You can have the best cam in world but it won't make good power if you have bad flowing heads.

I see where you have headers but what about the rest of the exhaust system? Are you still running the factory Y-Pipe for instance? Allne

What kind of chip was installed? In 1989 they did away with the cold start injector, only to have all of the injectors do the priming in it's place...

If you're chip was designed for the ninth injector, this could 'possibly' be the reason for such a delay on the first crank. Sounds like she's not getting primed, before-hand.

as for it not starting it sounds like a common problem and might be something i just have to deal with. and as for the heads they were re-done a year or two ago but i dont think they are ported or polished or anything else like that. if you could advise me on a good brand, size, or anything else like that it would be appreciated. Im the type of guy that usually thinks bigger is better but i know with cars thats not always the case, so any advice will help thanks.

I like your car. It weighs a good 300 pounds less than mine and that tranlates into 3 tenths in the quarter. Anyways I'm having very good luck with the Trickflow heads. Allen

What kind of performance do you want ? The absolute best 1/4 mile time ? Or do you just want a fast car , that you can show off to your buddies . Are you bent like I am on keeping TPI ? Gotta make some of these descissions first ( and I gotta learn to spell) lol

I myself like tha latter of the two .... I want a good car that really picks up quickly( TPI) . I have decided that I won't be ripping around all the time at above 5500 ...so I went my route.
