Low Fuel Pressure
I am having some problems with my 1986 T/A 5.0L TPI. I checked my fuel psi and I am only getting 18-20, now i did check my engine check codes and it was reading a egr valve problem so i replaced that and so no more codes, but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas why my pressure is so low, it starts but only for a couple seconds really, then it just putters down and dies. I replaced the Dist Cap/Rotor Ignition coil, plugs, wires, new Edelbrock 52mm TB, ported plenum, and a new MAF, I was told a while back that it could be the fuel pump itself, but if anyone else has some ideas of somthing possibly causing this, any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd replace the fuel filter (19.99 at autozone) and if that doesn't do it go for the fuel pump. Fuel filter is easy to replace. big metal cannister under the driver side of the car. Good luck!

yeah i replaced the filter a while ago.... it seems obvious to me now that its the pump.. considering i changed the Fuel Pressure Reg, today and still 20psi......... Man i was not looking forward to droppin the tank, oh well, either way it wanted to come out, sending unit is bad too..... *sighs* anyone know if the pump and sendin unit are two differ pieces ? or both just one:lala:
