can you edit my post on the classifieds..The motor is sold.Only mods can edit (dumbest rule for this board since the very beginning)..

As has been for years, the moderators can generally only control the forum they are a moderator of. Therefore, Jason and Paul can't help with this request. I've locked your thread.
You are entitled to your opinion, but the staff (moderators) had the opportunity to express their views, opinions and concerns over the Edit rule after the case was presented for why the change was being made. For what it was worth, while there was a few (minority) that had provided some reasons why it would be an issue, most were followed up with a conclusions that their reasons weren't strong enough against the reasons behind making the change. Yes, it causes an inconvenience for some, but those, from what I've seen, are in the minority. Few really need to edit their post a few days after submission. In those cases, the staff works with the members.
I wish there was a better compromise that was easy to implement, but currently, I have not found it. This is one case where the few ruin it for the majority.
