Ottawa F-Body cruise today

Well I just got home from the cruise. It was a great time! I got reaquainted with some of the people I met at the Tri-City Invasion dinner, and got to meet a few new faces too. Forgetting to join up at the dinner I made sure to join up today. I'm an official Ottawa F-Body member now!
I highly recommend everyone in the area to join, it will bolster the numbers, and really is with a fantastic bunch of people. I'm looking forward to next summer.
As a side benefit, the Montreal club is pretty much part of the Ottawa club, in my opinion anyway. So when there are get-togeathers, they come out to play as well. Also an awsome bunch of people.
Thanks again to all who attended to make it an enjoyable day for me.

Hi Buddy,

I am glad you enjoyed yourself. I had fun too. I am so ticked that I couldn't get my IROC ready in time. When you own one of these cars and can't bring it out for the fun, it drives you nuts! Hopefully, us thirdgenners can do something together in the next few weeks.

How about it Brian, Neil, Dave, Scott, Chris and Kevin? Should we do a thirdgen get together before the snow flies?

Neil - where were you today?

Let me ask a question about the Ottawa f-body club.

Do the members get any discounts at GM dealers like the Toronto clubs have set up (tfbm and CCFBG). For example- the usual "agreement" is 10% above dealers' cost- and one of the Toronto dealers who does this doesn't care what car the parts are for (ie. you can order parts for your Cadillac and get the discount)- while a couple of the others only offer the discount on parts specifically for an f-body.

Hey Guys,

Something came up unexpectedly at last minute and I wasn't able to make it out this time...sounds like a nice time though.

The weather actually turned out not too bad either compared to what was forcast.

I'm up for a meet pretty much anytime, be it with or without the cars.

Hi Eric,

Yes - we get a 15% discount at Myers Cadillac Chevrolet in Ottawa. Not sure about discounts for other GM brands. The money will be used strictly for club event costs. You also get a nice embroidered baseball cap which cost us $15.00 each. I can say that everyone who has participated in our activities have a good time.

Thanks,
Hylton

Thanks for the compliment Hylton, I appreciate the attention . I'm finally getting the car the way I can be satisfied with it. Years of getting angry at the car - and the guy who ruined it for me, have finally started getting changed or looked at with a GREAT amount of help from Scream'in Chicken (Ken), and also some input and knowledge from a bit of a local guru - Mr. Leary. The car wouldn't be the way it is if not for Ken.
But... I am actually a little partiale to the 4th gens. Totally in love with the RamAirs/Firehawks especially. Someday....

Anybody interested in hitting up Merivale and Meadowlands this friday or saturday night.I know it's cold but,may as well stick it out before the cars are away for the winter.

I've got 2 weeks before mine goes away for an engine and tranny swap.

I'm up for hooking up. Can't do it Saturday though. Hopefully, Dave will be back from his honeymoon and Chris will have his new ride going. Friday is good for me.

Buddy,

I like the 4th gens as well (Camaro of course). But you just have to wait a while. They will come down in price eventually and that's when you pull the trigger. I figure you can enjoy the car you have now and when it starts to go up in value and the 4th gen goes down in value, you can get a 4th gen after selling your car and still have money left over in your pocket!

Hey Buddy -

Why would anyone want to sell this car?

LOL , the owner always sees the flaws. But it is awful hard to argue with "Ram Air, Firehawk, LS-1", crazy words like those. Thanks though.

You're just like the rest of us, never be happy with what you got. Always got something you want to do to the car.

John!
Welcome to Thirdgen.org-Ontario! Hope you surf your way around here, and I'm sure you won't have any trouble making some new friends.
Guys, especially Ottawa people, this is Hylton's better half so to speak. The two guys who are taking this Ottawa club and running with it to make it work. It's their hard work and dedication that are making an F-Body club that may actually last in this town. (A bit of an inside joke there, both Hylton and John know what I'm talking about)
Anyways, get to know John and Hylton (if you haven't already) and join up with the club already ya bunch of frigg'in slackers!

Ottawa F-Body Club - Hawkesbury/Montebello 2005 Oct 16

Hi Buddy!

Thanks for your kind words about re-igniting the Ottawa F-Body
Club. Isn't that literally what the word "Firebird" means?
"A Phoenix that rises from the ashes to fly again". ;-)

Here is an F-Body line-up with Michel's '91 Firebird Formula 350
from the convoy to Hawkesbury and Montebello October 16 2005:
