Some peoples misfortune can be other peoples gain...

So a couple of weeks ago I am on a boating vacation and all of a sudden all the power goes out and we are stuck at the lock. I call home to tell my Mom we will be stuck for a little bit and she doesn't sound right. She tells me my brother had a car accident and she does not know how he is thats all she knows. I am stuck in the middle of butt fu(k nowhere with no way to get home to see if things are ok. I try to call her back but the phones are dead (now I am really worried). I finally get through to her and she tells me he is ok but his car is totaled (slid under a cube van) the hood, nose and fenders are destroyed windshield broke side windows popped out of the jams and the motor was bent back into the firewall. The really bad part his car was a 2003 Cavalier that he picked up in January brand spankin new with the ecotec motor (it hauled ***). The other thing is he put rims and tires on it a few weeks before the crash. So the good that came out of this.... I got rims and tires dirt cheap. pics to come later

CLIFF NOTES: Paul's brother writes off 2003 Cavalier, Paul gets his brand new CSA rims with rubber for $500

My guess would be the LO3. 15.7 would be impressive for a stock one with many many miles on it.

id like to see this stock Ecotec run low to mid 15's. I ran my car, 2002 cav z24 5 speed to 16 flat, well 16.064 @87.67 MPH. And i let it go at 4500 rpm at the line and in third going throught the lights at red line so i d like to see this shiat.

This was a stripped down base model with no power options, just a bare bones car but a lot of it has to do with the driver.

I know what an ecotec is, I was just amazed that you'd say something like "it hauls ***" about it.
Maybe J-B weld another 4 banger to it, making a 90* V, and THEN you can brag.

What I meant was for a 4 banger it was pretty quick and a fun car to drive.
