Any meets coming up?
Hey there guys, I'm new to this site (gotta love it) and fairly new to the TO area but do you guys have any meets in the spring/ summer/ fall? It'd be interesting to see some other Third gens other then mine (which isn't much at the current time).
Also I need a cat back system that sounds sweet for a mild 5.7.... Any suggestions? With tail pipes exiting both sides of the car... Thanks

Welcome to the site!
There aren't any concrete meets set up right now, but we have a few tentative things in mind for the spring. The board will get plenty of notice, so stick around and keep your eyes open.
As far as cat-backs go, both Hooker and Flowmaster have dual-exit cat-backs. Hooker seems to be a popular choice with the exhaust-note weenies, and I like my Flows, so either would be a good choice.

Well then maybe I'll meet with you'se sometime in the summer, Coffee anyone?
As for my car.... Well like I said it's not much, and it has a long way to go (who's car doesn't). It was a 2.8 stick car (Which wasn't to bad if you liked going slow) no T-tops. It was made in the states, California of course so it doesn't has rear defrost or a third brake light.. No biggie just something different I guess. So it's never seen winter (it's so easy to work on) it had knock off center lines. It's maroon with a metal flake and it's got that honkin factory wing on it too. I got rid of the rims and picked up the gold Trans-Am honeycomb rims started replacing the interior (it was really worn) Just yanked out the V6 to be replaced with a mildly mod TPI 5.7 out of a 90 Zer (RIP) Picked up a limited slip or posi (whatever you want to call it) rear end with 3.42 gears and disc brakes the master and valve. I also grabbed the T5 tranny (with high hopes that I don't gernade it) because the V6 was stick and I'd miss it too much. It needs paint in a bad way but that can wait till I finish putting the basics in. It's a project, what can I say. What do you'se think about springs?? I need new ones and I'm open for suggestions if there is any.

Well I guess that depends on what you have for tools, resources, buddies and time... Oh ya money.. I'm not really to sure what you mean by that question, do you mean is there alot of parts involved?
Really it's not too much, I mean you'll need the complete wiring harness, the tranny (a T5) is internally different from a v6 to a v8, I'm not to sure about the v6 to v8 auto tranny, the dual fans are nice, you need the computer, you need different springs, and a different tranny crossmember. A different rear end (limited slip or posi) is always nice instead of one wheel peel....
And of course the motor... I'm running TPI but as you know carb's another option..... To just run out and buy all of this would cost you a fortune but if you wait and watch... Thats how I got all of my stuff. Oh ya the rad is different to! And of course all of the accessories on the motor are different too. Hope that answers your question.... I'm still in the progress so I could be missing a few things... Don't think so, but you never know.

Ya IROCER, I live a few houses away from the gas station right beside Armstrong's. I've probably seen your car there, but he's always got a trans-ams or camaro there so it's hard to keep track. Usually I'll stop and take a look or wish mine was as nice as the ones there but someday I suppose. Where did you live in Georgetown? How come you left? I work at Mold Masters so I really don't have to go very far thats probably why you saw my car now and again.

I left for bigger and better pastures! haha Actually, just needed to move out of my parents house and found a really nice but cheap one in Hamilton with parking for 5 cars. Dave Armstrong has that beat up 2nd gen Camaro for sale in the back of the lot...it has potential, but they want waaaaay to much for it.

Lol Geez Irocker, Were gonna have to get together in the summer sometime and chat about Georgetown. That lump of a second gen is a friend of a friends car. That car has been sitting for a long time, he's only had it for a short time (year and a half or so) and it's already got a history. Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole (well maybe if it was cheaper and I liked that style of car). What a small world we live in eh?
Actually, the guy who owns that second gen has put alot of work/TLC into it now and it's turning out really nice. Me and my buddies didn't know he had it in him, but he's doing a great job apparently.
