I like the Toronto f-body sticker because it's a good graphic design and really looks good on their cars. Obviously we don't want copy it but I think we should also have something that is a good, simple and visually effective design.
The rectangular sticker designs submitted with pictures of cars and so on in them are too busy and won't reproduce well.
Azure's last image works really well - the only thing is whether or not the oriental style font is appropriate for our cars although that may not really be an issue and you can't change it w/out ruining the design. Anyway I'd put that one on my car.

The font is actually created by an American designer...but I think maybe it's TAO that gives it a foreign look, I'm not sure, but Tao I think may be japanese for something...hmm....I dunno.

Well I suck at Photoshop. And was just playing around...if some would like to take over my idea be my guest. Like I said I suck with photoshop and have more important things to do right at this time so.. have at her. Azure's does look pretty neat, but it reminds me of the Toronto Maple leafs latest emblem. Just my 2 cents.

Azure's design is the best I've seen so far and I think you should go with that because it'll be a while before you get anything better. ie end up like the t-shirts - never get done.
Kaz - your's is'nt bad but to me it seems dated - sorry about that.
Also, this post has got to big for my POS **** dial-up so when a decision is reached maybe post something to advise etc.

No need to apologize. Like I said I was just playing around. Just got photoshop 7 and was playing, this gave me a excuse to do so. Some one could jazz it up if they like, I don't care.. go for it someone.

Too me that looks too conventional and I'd rather it didn't say "member" anywhere - seems like extraneous information.
Could I design something better - the answer is no.
Go with Azures design - probably be cheap to produce because it's all text and it will look like what it looks like now when you get it in your hands.

If my final design is chosen, someone PM me to let me know so I can do a vector-based image in CMYK for printing...

Hey you bunch of stiffs, I think I've come up with the mother of all logos for us that best suits our association. I think you will all agree that there is no more choices needed to be made. This is it, that is all. You can all start thanking me now.

Thank you - I now realize that I was completely wrong; however, in the event that we do end up going with a graphic design I'd still say we should use the one by Azure.

I like Azure's logo... so I messed around with it a bit. I also think this would make a good business card as well...

Not to be an ***, but I prefer mine over the glass-etched sticker because I can't really see putting a rectangular sticker on my vehicle, as opposed to a decal...I just like the letters themselves, I guess, looks better IMO. Plus, with white, it's a simple 1 spot colour process, all that's needed is cutting, which is fairly inexpensive....the glass-etch sticker is @ least 3 spot, probably more after all is said and done.

Only the logo will be visible in the picture, not the whole rectangle. I was actually designing a business card and messing around, but your TAO caught my eye and then I figured why not...
So picture the lettering in simple white (gotta keep it cheap and easy to make) with the etched logo in behind it.
It would be simplistic, but still eye catching with good representation of the car, pontiac logo and chevy bowtie logo each to their class.
Honestly, the TAO alone without anything else makes me think of some sort of martial art ad so I felt by adding the meaning of the words quite neatly beside it and then the link AND the logos, the intent is shown.
This is also marketing as well, so we have to be quick and to the point. No fancy handwriting on the message portion. The bowtie/pontiac symbol scream car, TAO is eyecatching, and the lettering is the quick message.

Looks good, may be a bit pricey, gotta see, I guess. Actually, this 'vote' is hardly that...Paul, IROC, use your admin'ing skills to put up a sticky poll, or something...?

Slade - no offense but that's a mess. It seems to me that you've cluttered up a good design - you got too many lines going everywhere.
Look at the decal example of Azure's design on the back window of that blue car and compare it to yours if you don't see the difference then stick to engineering.

Ya, I really like it....could u try a different font and see how it looks? I really do not like white...looks cheap. I think like i said before, chrome or silver...that way it compliments all paint colours and goes with most rims.

The logo I designed is not meant for the center of the rear hatch. If it was, I would have strived for symmetry.
The sticker would in in around the same spot as where the tfbm people put their logo, or on the inside of the windshield on one side.
Now ease up on the personal comments, this is just tossing up ideas, point out issues, provide ways of fixing them.
Azure, for the TAO see if you can put more emphasis on the TaO. I'm curious as to see how that would look in the same style of writing, but from a distance would look like TO giving the "Toronto" abbreviation look. I'm wondering if this would distance it from the "oriental/martial art" concept and kind of push a "Torontonian" appeal.

Based on some comments here are some revisions.
The lettering has been "chromed" since doing a real chrome requires a reflection, some imagination is required here.
The logo in the back has had the brush art treatment. Now colored to hopefully accent your car's color. The background is now just the tinting of the hatch window.
Here's the blue.

I whipped this up in 20 mins, by no means is it close to what the final would look like, but it does give an idea. A real decal would be much more crisp and easy to read from up to 20 ft I gather.

yo u guys are making things way to complicated. when you print something u want something simple that you can look, something bold.
and wtf is with this TAO bull****. when we think of a 3rd gen we think of muscle, not some "TAO" crap. TAO sounds like the name of a japanese car or something. holy **** man lose the acronym...
here's something i came up with. it's a simple decal, plain and effective. sends the message nice and clear. the gray is actually a silver.

Slade - didn't mean to offend you but be that as it may I'd still say your design is way too cluttered - that's the issue I was drawing your attention to amidst the perhaps unfortunate rhetoric.
Also, I don't think that the committee approach works with this kind of stuff - better to leave it to people who have a good eye for it rather than everyone throw their 2 cents in trying to fix things that aren't broken.
Democracy is OK in its place I guess.

(registered trademarks aside) These will be printed in the CMYK printing process - the gold/gold brown gradient alone, if seperated, makes for thousands of individual colours. I personally don't intend to put a decal on my car that's beyond 1 or two colours to begin with - it's nice for a bumper sticker you'd stick on a guitar case, or something, but as far as a decal goes...well, it's NOT a decal. It's a sticker.

actually it would not be expensive at all...
all they do is use a color printer to print over the vinyl and then cut the decal from it. i've been to a decal shop before.

Price regardless, (a good shop with the right print press WILL be expensive), I don't think I'd stick something with both a Pontiac and Chevy logo on my car...blah, this may be childish, but chances are this isn't going anywhere for awhile, maybe I'll just get them done myself? Get a few, "de-importify" the font, and get a bunch done..someone wants one, buy them from me, no one does, then I'll use them to seal up my *** crack or something.
