It assumes the guy on the bike can ride and most important--LAUNCH, the factory already set it up more or less...

Light to light the game changes, the difficulty in launching the bike evens things up a bit assuming a typical street rider.
Launch is a critical factor, for both. Anything with a clutch, any vehicle with enough power to break traction or surface with minimal traction (asphalt) makes it probably the most important moment. From there you just can't miss a shift! Of course most cars don't have to worry about flipping over but bikes sure do. If you can apply 99.9% of power to the available traction you got it made even on the worst of surfaces.

Re: Who Here Can Take On a Bike?

My friend at work drag races bikes. His old bike i believe was making 180-200 hp and ran high 8 at 155. Forget what it was but its atleast a liter but i think bigger. Bike is stretched with a 2 step and i think clutchless? Or some moddified shift system for rapid shifts. It launches hard. Thats about as good performance as you'll see in a bike you may encounter on the street, the trap speed is in line with modern liter + bikes.

Re: Who Here Can Take On a Bike?

Last time I ran a bike was 4 years ago, was with my 89 RS, 6 liter 6 speed, 4.30s. Was a CBR1000. Guy had just whooped another liter bike and I could not get anyone to race. So there I was thinking, screw waiting in this parking lot and just BSing. I asked the guy in the bike if he wanted to run, when I said my Camaro, he said sure. He had a programmer, I take and exhaust. First run he was front tire up and could not set it down so I won by maybe half my car in front of him. Next two runs he was a bike ahead of me.

Left the meet, went to turn off the nitrous and found the bottle was totally empty. I thought something wasn't right. So, I was pulling 5 degrees timing and throwing extra fuel.

Follow up the next week, full 10 pound bottle and 1000 psi, I got to run him again. This time the confused look on his face when we got back was priceless. He didn't understand why I put a few car lengths on him from a week ago. I pulled the normal BS about how it needed a tune up and was running rich. Not far from the truth I guess. But yea, beating a liter or bigger bike with mods and a experienced rider is a hell of a feeling.

That was with your trex 6.0? You trapped almost 100 in 1/8 all motor right? That cbr should have pulled more than a bike length.
On bottle i can see it hanging or beating as you'd be closer to mid high 130's traps in 1/4

Re: Who Here Can Take On a Bike?

Trapped 97 all motor. We were also going from a low speed 10 MPH start so the 60
Factor was not there for him to take advantage.

Re: Who Here Can Take On a Bike?

Launchin them isnt easy. You really need to set them up right and be a good rider to get them to go
