DESTROYED a 95 GT :)
finally I got to race something decently quick. the only guys around here that are willing to race are riceboys and pickups with barky exhaust
so i pull up beside this white GT, pretty sure it was a 5.0, it just had GT on the fender, and no "4.6"
but i'm not sure, I stage a few times and he stages back, the light turns green and I wait for him to hit it, I see his front lift up so I floor it hard, a little too hard, I spin pretty bad, but still pull a car on him, i hit 2nd and the car goes sideways!
I fishtail for half a second and he gains on me a bit, I straiten out and pull HARD, by the time I went for 3rd he was 3-4 cars back and I put on 2 more until about 80mph.
woohoo!
I guess my car aint all that slow after all
not that those GT are extremely fast, but i was expecting it to be a close race.
------------------
WHO NEEDS VTECH? I HAVE VORTEC
1982 Camaro "VortecZ"
-mildly built Vortec 350, powertrax locker
3.73's, TH700r4
The competition? Tastes a lot like chicken.

yup, that was a 5.0 you just killed. Congrats on the victory, i need that Vortec 350 for my GTA mind if i borrow it for a week or two? lol, j/k. Whats your car running? Did the GT sound decently modded? or was it just exhaust (normal mods)? the 5-speed late model 5.0's were ligit high 14 second cars. (some auto's have gone a paultry 15.3, lol)

actually I ran my gtech with it last week and it couldn't break into the 13's, low to mid 14's. I was thouroughly dissapointed, but some friends started pointing out that we are at high elevation and when i ran it, it was just about to rain, my carb definatly aitn tuned properly, I want mid 13's bad though, but a full second is quite a bit to shave off.. I think maybe my friends might be right, maybe my low 14sec= high 13's at sealevel?
cause if I'm that slow, that GT should have gave me a good run. It sounded stock, I'm not sure if it was auto of stick though.
Guess I'll have to find an LT1 and see how I fare
