Be careful with these cars, and others like them. I got into a street race with a Lincoln Mark 8(the ones with 300hp) with my TA. This guy was chasing me for blocks! We met at a light and raced. I killed him off the line, but towards the end, he was pulling up. I won, but not by much! His motor sounded great! I have the highest hp 305 you could get for '89, and it's been rebuilt. 20,000 miles on it at the time of the race. Our third-gens weigh as much as some of these luxo-barges. 300hp is 300hp, so watch out!

Car: 1990 Formula
Engine: treefitty
Transmission: stick
Lincoln Mark 8(LSC)=290hp.Non-LSC=280hp, according to the owners manual.
It's a 4.6 motor that has more ***** than the same motor in a stangs of those years.I wonder why. Anyway, I drove the 290hp LSC. I was expecting a nice peel-out but it was set on traction-control.Once turned off, it made a satisfactory tire noise but left me un-impressed, for all intent and purpose.
Hope that helps

The Lincoln costs alot more than the GT. I'm pretty sure Ford upped the power on later Mark 8's to compete with GM's 300hp Northstar.

Car: A Camaro
Engine: Weak
Transmission: Weaker
My dad has a 2000 Caddy with the 300hp northstar. It feel really wierd being pulled by 300 horses. They are pretty fast though, I beat a supercharged Bonneville with it pretty easily.

The roadmaster has an LT-1 in it. That is the old Impala's sister car. I saw a race with a Thunderbird S/C and it was very close.

To respond to the original post, the SLS has 275 HP and the STS has 300hp. They are fast and not to be underestimated. Also, for having 290hp, the Mk VIII feels like a dog.
